2026 Blue Grass Stakes: 100 Points. One Shot 🐎

One race. One shot. Everything on the line. The 2026 Blue Grass Stakes is one of the the last chances for rising stars to punch their ticket to the 2026 Kentucky Derby. Who steps up when it matters most?

This video looks at the race architecture meaning track design and pace and evaluates the 7 contenders running in the Blue Grass Stakes 2026. NEWS ALERT: CLASS PRESIDENT (2) AND OCELLI (7) SCRATCHED.

The 2026 Blue Grass Stakes is run at Keeneland in Lexington Kentucky on Saturday April 4th and is one of the last Kentucky Derby prep races that awards 100 points to the winner.

Meet the contenders:

1. Talkin (Trainer Danny Gargan). Impressive two year old season outside of the G2 Remsen. May have been too aggressive in the Tampa Bay Derby.

2. Class President (Trainer: Todd Pletcher) SCRATCHED from the 2026 Blue Grass Stakes

3. Great White (Trainer: John Ennis) Talented runner on the synthetic. Winner of the John Battaglia Memorial. Will he take to the dirt and eat them all up in the Blue Grass Stakes 2026?

4. Reagan’s Honor (Trainer: Cherie DeVaux) The only horse in the field to win against older horses and did so by 6 lengths.

5. Creole Chrome (Trainer: Joe Sharp) Has been polished at the Fair Grounds, winning three of four β€” but this is a much shinier field, and the class jump is real here in the Blue Grass Stakes.

6.Further Ado (Trainer: Brad Cox). Won by 20 lengths right here at Keeneland. Back after finishing second in the Tampa Bay Derby

7. Ocelli (Trainer: Whitworth Beckman) SCRATCHED from the 2026 Blue Grass Stakes

8. Moonstrocity (Trainer: Jena Antonucci) May sound larger than life β€” but with just a couple starts since February, this might be a giant leap a little too soon.

9. Ottinho (Trainer: Chad Brown) Two tries at this distance and one win - heart, fight, and blinkers are going on.
